Is it best to always record the most popular game?

Nope... I love watching vids of games you dont normally see being played... Because if one hundred ppl r doing the same how r ya gonna get noticed??

 

Well your one of the cool ones haha . Yeah most people do only watch most popular games nowadays. Myself i dont care as long as the video is either entertaining or funny, but im not like most people. There is a flaw to playing obscure games though. If nobody likes the game or if it's too obscure or people dont search it then that person doesn't get many views. my channel fits mostly into old or random games. but ill play a new one every now and then and the views don't really change. Its a real predicament the best place is in the middle. unpopular games turn popular when popular people play them on a show. Doing that if your not popular doesn't help either. ive done that a few times and had like the best quality video when i searched for that game. But if people dont like your content then there not gonna watch any game you pay regardless. But if you are funny or have good commentary then youll build a fan base that will watch anything you play really. GameGrumps is one of those channels. Like im watching them play Zelda CD-i Wand of Gamelon lol its a really bad game but they are funny and make the best of it. So i aim for that.

 

I didnt mean not ever play new or popular, lol but yes a great mix of the two is a good balance

 

Thats what i try to do but money is tight now a Days so i most play games that are older. or that i already own

Yeah thats what im trying to go for but last time i bought a game on launch day i got like 5 views for uploading it the day ot came out. pokken tournament i bought on Laumch day but didn't record until a month later it got views for my channel. But wierd games like the mega man collection got me life 50-100 views at least per video. Just depends if you like the game. cod adv warfare sucked so bad your gonna wish it didnt sick so bad lol XD.

 

Well..I don't know, people tend to google or search on youtube the latest games released so there's a huge chance they'll see your gameplay/walkthrough first. But, my personal opinion is...You don't have to follow the flow of the latest games to be famous on Youtube. I know a Youtuber " Sadly he's not so popular " who does old series and he's my favorite one
You have to enjoy what you do...People can notice if you love playing that game or not.
