What goes wrong with many gymnasium goers since add couple of inches during their triceps and biceps and they will seem going to a road block. Do you add more weights for that dumbbells? Should you add more repetitions? Just how many reps will you do? If you're not getting results anymore with 10 reps should you choose to 20? How about 30?
