Verified with only 60 subs? How?

    I saw a channel from MGN having verified thick with only 60 subs. How are these people getting verified? Im doing livestreaming, have more subs then that guy and all. Is there a special way to get it?

    Well a long time ago before youtube was a "Thing" They gave out verifications to basically everyone that asked them... And for some reason they kept those verifications.

    This is how it works:
    YouTube recently changed the policy on how that works.
    Before, all you needed was your network to verify you, and they could tell YouTube, hey...This dude is the real him! Verify him!
    And then you'd be verified.
    ----
    Now;
    Here are the requirements:
    - At least 100,000 subscribers
    - In a network (usually)
    ----
    So basically, we can't get it till 100k subs.

    A few months ago any network could verify any size channel as long as it was in good standing. So some networks like Freedom! did not want to abuse this system, requiring a certain number of subscribers. In some cases, like this person with 60 subscribers, he probably found the correct email that he needed to email for verification, thus acquiring it for himself. Now there are more rules that YouTube has put in place to stop the abundance of verified channels.

    YouTube now requires-
    - a minimum of 100,000 subscribers OR if they are a brand like Pepsi or Fanta etc.

    As mentioned above these are indeed some of the options available at the time. People who were Staff or Community Team members within a network also gained a verification badge wich is reason that you could see channels with a tick with a low sub count. Now with the policy change it is not as easy anymore though.
