Twitch Chat Problems

For some reason when I stream using OBS and I have the bettertv installed on my twitch account and everything, for some reason my chat always seems to drop and I never see any chat attempts when I'm streaming either. I have no idea what's wrong and would really appreciate help with this since I really want to get back into streaming and upload some of my streams to YouTube. I can't really upload any streams to YT if people can't see how the chat is going (if it ever works).
