Youtube has been changing a lot lately because of the rise in hateful content being uploaded to the site. There has been a lot of talk lately about a new requirement to having videos be monetized, which requires 10,000 lifetime views on your channel before you can make a penny. Since we are part of the Freedom Network, does this new change affect us or are we in the clear for now and Freedom manages what is okay and what is not?

you are still partnered with freedom!/MGN you wont be kicked out for having less then 10k views. on that note you will not make any revenue until channels meet that milestone and is reviewed by youtube. now if you are brand new channel and you want to partner with freedom/mgn you have to have 10k lifetime views because youtube will not allow them to send invites. hope this come what helps.

So, monetization from my previous videos will now be removed until I meet that milestone or does this affect future videos only?

I read somewhere that if you had monetization BEFORE this, then you'd still have the monetization enabled and earn the money like you should, is that a way to prove it wrong?

very good question as far a i can see no they dont have monetization enabled anymore. since youtube does not allow monetization on channels less then 10k lifetime views. after they hit the mark they then go through new review process for all channels applying to join the YouTube Partner Program. but from what i am reading and being told until that happens no monetize on the channel. The ones that have had it is now disabled until then.

Interesting, to me it's still "enabled" (shows green sign and everything), even on the features page it's enabled, but my thingy my bob (the estimates) doesn't show up.

How can I tell if monetization is removed? I'm looking at my channel and it still looks like I can monetize my videos.

I think YouTube is going overboard with their demonetisation policies, my channel has over 130,000 lifetime views and yet two of my let's play videos which are as legit and clean (as far as I know) have been set to the "Not suitable for all advertisers" yellow dollar icon.

I won't post the links to the two videos here, but if you're curious it's my let's play of Dying Light episode 4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat episode 11. Both of these videos are currently on the yellow dollar icon, for no plausible reason that I can think of.

Apparently, I can't request a manual review from YouTube until those videos have reached at least 1,000 views, and since that won't happen anytime soon, I'm stuck with the yellow dollar icon. I've tried contacting Freedom! support but it seems they can't help me with this, either.

Has anyone else had this issue?
