How to: Verify Your Youtube Channel ✔ (OUTDATED)

It's that time of year again where everyone seems to want to get verified for some reason. Awhile since YouTube opened the gates to channel verification's IF you have enough views/month but this was never really publicly announced. Luckily for you, I know how and I'll share that knowledge with you.

Also a conversation i had with a Fullscreen support rep with additional information about verification here that might help:

This is what you have to do:

1. Verify your account. You should have done this ages ago, but if you haven't, follow the steps provided here. http://youtube.com/verify

2. Visit this link https://support.google.com/youtube . Here you'll see whether you are eligible to request the verification or not. If you have enough views per month, you'll see the words "Contact us" in the top right corner, right below your profile picture. If it's not there, you're out of luck and you'll need to grow your channel more before returning.

3. Click on the *Contact us* button. A drop-down menu will appear. Chose *YouTube account administration* and then chose *Verify a channel* Now click on *Email* So: Contact us -> YouTube account administration -> Verify a channel -> Email

4. In the mail you will kindly request the verification of your channel. Make sure to say things like "to prevent other users from copying my content and claiming it as their own" or "I was attacked in the past",.... For some these might be little white lies, but that's ok.

5. Now all you have to do is wait for the reply from YouTube and that check mark to appear next to your name! Good luck.


**The verification of a channel is nothing more than a little icon next to your name, it's really not that special as people make it out to be, so don't be bummed you're not yet able to request it.**
