So I know yall are looking at the title like dafaq is that, but hear me out. You know the huge title Shin Megami Tensei? Well this is a subseries within that realm that is actually called Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Soul Hackers. This is the second game in the subseries, following SMT: Devil Summoner. It is a single player, rpg released for the 3DS in 2013 in N. America. I myself have played the game a bit, and got a little ways into it, but I am no where near an ending that I know of and am excited to go further.

So you start out as a guy who has the skills to hack into anything, and is part of a hacker group called the Spookies with your best friend Hitomi. The founder is a guy nicknamed Spooky, then theres Six, Lunch, Yuichi, yourself and Hitomi. Early on you hack into a brand new system just being released ingame called Paradigm X. Somehow you inherit a device called a GUMP, which later enables the demon catching. But once you hack the GUMP the demon inside possess ur friend Hitomi and leads you on an adventure. I do not rememeber specifics and as I glanced over the wiki for this I did not catch the overall objective but basically the player navis dungeons where you solve puzzles, fight and capture demons using the GUMP, combine demons to receive more powerful ones, etc. There are always 6 spots in your fighting party usually 2 humans and 4 demons. These demons are obtained thru fights where instead of attacking you speak to the demon and you either impress intimidate or answer their questions correctly to obtain the ability to summon that demon. The demons can then be summoned to help battle other demons you run across in these dungeons and have abilities you wanna pay close attention to because that comes into team management later.

Team management gets a bit involved. Certain demons will refuse to follow a command if it doesnt align with their beliefs, and depending on alignments demon wise they will refuse to cooperate with certain other kinds of demons. It makes for a real interesting setup and unless you pay attention you can get yourself in a huge bind. Anyway I give the game 8/10 for me becauss of the enginuinty and creativity involved and the attention to detail. Definitly excited for more of these games and may even backtrack the first game if its available.
