    This software is open source and free. Essentially what you can do with this is you can setup "advanced" settings for both recording and streaming. If you get the settings right you can get REALLY good quality in both streaming and recording. It lets you do live scene switching and editing. You can even get third party plugins for it to get extra features! I can only recommend this to everybody really.

    OBS is OK for livestream, but my pc is decent. I get like 360p quality (youtube wise). I cant even record with it lol. Its only for like really strong pc's that obs is good.

    I think you should recheck your settings there sir. I don't have a that good quality PC but I can get a real good 1080p 60fps video out of OBS. Maybe set your bitrate a little higher for your recordings for YouTube. I know people that uses OBS because it's not that resource aggressive as ex. Fraps and Dxtory is. I mean even my 3 yr old REALLY low end laptop can record 720p 60fps just fine with OBS and still not meltdown itself.

    Waw, Mr.Kold. like people, every computer,grafics card, and processor are different. What may work best for your computer may not work good for another. For example Fraps runs especially well on my computer, but it may not run as well for somebody that has a better or wors computer then me.

    (Side note: You sounded really mean, try to reword and make that sound nicer.) :)

    In reply to you all, I agree @RecSeth computer hardware specification plays a huge factor, however, the other thing you should all take into consideration is that your bit rate, should directly correlate to you internet upload speed (not download, down makes no difference for streaming). Here is a link to OBS Stream Estimator, this is a great tool. (Link: https://obsproject.com/estimator) I hope this clears a few things up.

    1. Hardware specification plays a big part in the quality of videos.
    2. Software plays a slightly smaller part in the quality of videos (recording, not editing)
    3. Internet plays the BIGGEST role, people you see with greats streams, great FPS, no drops in the stream or lag etc, either have a dedicated PC / GFX card for streaming or amazing internet, and numbers 1 and 2 from above.
    I would look to invest in a good PC first, high end graphics and processor, plus enough RAM to sink a ship, chuck in an SSD to be sure, and you will have yourself a great PC :)
