Not sure how many gamers here play ESO (Elder Scrolls Online for those not in the know), but it's probably the first time I've seen a game company doing a giveaway of 1 million USD to one lucky player, as far as I can remember. It has one caveat which is probably going to make a lot of ESO players sigh in disappointment: Only those who live in eligible countries can participate.

Quoting from the official rules: "All participants must (a) be at least 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older, (residents of Alabama or Nebraska must be at least 19 years old; residents of Mississippi must be at least 21 years old),at the time of Entry; (b) possess a valid form of identification; and (c) be a legal resident of: (i) one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (excluding residents of Florida, New York, Rhode Island, the territories and military installations), (ii) Canada, excluding the Province of Quebec, (iii) Finland, (iv) France, (v) Germany, (vi) Mexico, (vii) Norway, (viii) Russia, (ix) Switzerland, or (x) the United Kingdom." I don't play ESO myself, so this giveaway doesn't really mean much to me but it did make me think about how narrow the range of eligible countries was, considering how there are probably people from many other countries around the world who play ESO, but will not be eligible to enter.

I can understand that there may be a variety of reasons for the narrow range, but at the same time also feel that in the ideal world it would have been better to include more countries other than US, Canada, Mexico and a select few in Europe.

    What do you guys think?
