YouTube created a dedicated hub for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) show last week, which gave fans a look at behind-the-scenes footage and much more. There were live streams of Nintendo World Championships, the unveiling of the latest installment in the “Doom” series and a 12-hour livestream marathon hosted by Geoff Keighley with live “Let’s plays” of new titles, among other events.

According to Keighly, the streams were a huge success. They reached almost 8 million views on Monday alone, as well as 2 million hours watch time in total. That’s enough time “to travel to Pluto and back,” Keighly jokes. The streams also generated about 500 million comments.

What do you think? Is YouTube gonna be the next "Twitch"? Let's find out.
