    YouTube requires some very special tips. This thread should tell you what you need!!!

    Videos:
    For recording your gaming videos you will need a good recording software like fraps or even dxtory, but to get started i would use Litecam HD , it might have a water mark but its a good software to use, I even used on my own channel.

    Editing:
    You don't need straight away sony vegas but you can use this software called wondershare, it gives great results and very profeshional tools, wondershare is something i have invested in for myself.

    Thumbnails:
    You don't need straight away photoshop, you can use powerpoint or even paint , they do offer some tools but not all, good luck.

    As for Thumbnails i would recommend GIMP.

    I as a console player take the easy way. I stream to Youtube Gaming in HD quality and afterwards edit the stream in youtube editor...

    I made my banner with it actually. Fairly easy to use and in need youtube has lots of tutorials for good use of effects and sorts.
