So this game is a personally favorite of mine and I have the version for the Nintendo DS. The full title is Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and it was released first in Japan, then in North America, then worldwide and had mixed reviews tho it did its best sales in N. America I think. It was developed by Chunsoft, published by Spike in Japan and Aksys Games in N. America. I am excited to say this year there are plans to couple this title with the second in the series titled Virtues Last Reward for PS4 and Vita, as well as PC. The bundle will then be called Zero Escape: Nonary Games. Also the third installment in the series has released and is called Zero Time Dilemma which I have seen and wishlisted on Steam....

999 is 50% visual novel, and 50% adventure game. I believe that even being as simple a game as it is the puzzles and brain teasers presented drove me nuts the first time i saw them. As you play each run you get better at the puzzles. If you ever play, I suggest note taking so when you come back thru again it will be less fruustrating. I have pgs full of notes from this game and only have 4 out of the 6 total endings.

In this game you play as Junpei, a college student abducted from home. Early on you meet 8 other abducted people who you know only 1 personally. Once you meet up with the other 8 then they give each other code names to protect themselves- June, Lotus, Seven, Santa, Ace, Snake and Clover. There is one other who dies before he is named. Playing thru many times u learn more and more about these ppl.

Gameplay itself however repetative is amazeballs and thought provoking, and is divided into two types called ESCAPE and NOVEL. With Escape you are escaping a room using puzzles and brain teasers and clues. Each room is self contained, and everything you need is in that room. With Novel you are reading narrative and making decisions that will ultimately decide your ending.

No playthru gives you all the information/story so you must playthru multiple times to acheive the one true ending. One that eludes me still to this day and I have had the game since its N.American release in 2010. This is definitly a game I will suggest everytime to anyone interested!!!!
