    Hey gamers!

    With all of the talk about the new YouTube subnetwork policy, I'm receiving a lot of questions from the community about whether or not MGN will be affected.

    MGN will NOT be affected by these new policies. MGN is a brand under Freedom!, not a subnetwork.

    Here is the link to the new subnetwork policy by YouTube:
    https://support.google.com/youtube/...0974434812780909&pageId=117444887358455578837

    With the new policies being enforced by the end of the month, I expect to see a large increase in the amount of users that will join the MGN community as subnetworks powered by Freedom! either cease being active or change their business models.

    If you have any further questions or feedback, please feel free to comment below!

    Thanks and keep on gaming!

    To be honest i reckon its a good move by YouTube personally due to their being so many sub-networks not doing things professionally and should be working on doing other services to help its network and business.

    @MrDJSilva

    While I agree that that's true for some, it is very much not so for all or most subnetworks. I think subnetworks genuinely add value to partnerships with networks, often providing partners with a level of support their larger host network can't give because they're too bogged down by the tens or hundreds of thousands of partners they have.

    I think that this policy should be amended to ensure all subnetwork owners are 18 or over, have at least 6 months prior related experience in other networks, sign a contract with Google to make them accountable (for privacy/CMS access), and that they must specifically and precisely tell partners exactly who they're joining, who'll control their channel, and the differences between a subnetwork and a normal standalone MCN. That then solves all of the problems with subnetworks, all in one simple contract, that I just summarised in a paragraph.

    Like I said in my own post in a separate thread, this move has costs thousands of jobs, including young people with no back-up. This was the only income of many people. Bad experiences with networks spread like wildfire on YouTube and we (network owners) all get a bad rep for it. Firstly, Google must know about and should stop bad practices such as false advertising, lock in contracts, unfair revenue shares and so on. The truth is it does not care as long as it gets its money. Remember they take 45% of your Adsense money my default.

    Secondly, before you join a network, do your research. Its simple stuff that anyone with a microgram of common sense would do before signing to a network, especially with the consensus that all are bad (which they're not, by the way). Pointers: ensure the network has a permanent no lock-in contract, look for high CPM and revenue share (ideally 90% or over), good support systems (which are easy to find) and a good, small community (small as in fewer partners so more focus on helping you). Ask the people in the network what it's like before joining, and don't get screwed over. Not hard.

    The whole system was setup for failure and shadiness from the beginning, if you ask me. Unfortunate that they're taking it away, though.

    Yeah, if they controlled their site and acted sensibly from the start the system now would be much better :/

    Yeah it helped to "Weed" out the bad sub networks or sub networks that weren't taking it seriously to begin with and helped make YouTube a little bit neater in doing so. It does suck for Sub networks that did try there hardest to become a good network and the people that were partnered with them. I used to be apart of the PGUK Network and their hearts were in the right place by giving their share to a children's hospital in the U.K but they had to be shut down i think last time i messaged them. Hopefully they got back on their feet somehow they did try their best. Well in the end its for the better i guess.

    Well, like some of the community members already said, then in my opinion it was a good push, since there could have been some bad / horrible sub-networks. I don't know much tho.

    Yeah there were pretty bad sub networks that were kind of a joke if you ask me haha:laughing:. Like the Zootopia profile pic btw lol. Im kind of glad they are gone, there were a few good ones but the bad outwieghed the good in my opinion.
