    Hey guys!

I realize this is sort of out of the blue, and it's also smack in the middle of November and I probably should have posted this AGES ago, but has anyone here been working through NaNoWriMo?

For those who have never heard of it, NaNoWriMo- National Novel Writing Month- is every year during the month of November. Your goal is to write 50,000 words of a novel in a single month! The idea is just to start writing, no editing, no going over your chapters, no do-overs (apart from VERY early on), and just you and your writing. There's also the "Now What?" months afterward, which are about I think editing and finishing the novel, but for November you just have to hit 50,000, and you're considered a winner.

A lot of people get published from this month, and NaNoWriMo has access to loads of deals on really amazing tools for writers, like Scrivener. Some people make Twines (text based adventures), some people make books, some people write fanfiction. Anything goes!

I'm going this year, and as of this post I'm at 30, 745 words! I'm a little ahead, but I have to be- my friend's getting married in ten days and I'm a bride's maid @.@ My book is an adventure novel.

So, is anyone here a writer in any way? Would you do NaNoWriMo? Are you doing it? If you were to do it, what kind of story would you write?

I had a girlfriend who did this.

From November 1 until she was done with her word count I was better off being somewhere else.

    "Hun, need anything?"

    "Sssh!"

    "Okay, just checkin....."

"Can you just let me write please?"

    " 'k "

Haha that's a bit extreme to me XDD I enjoy just writing when I can, but I'm a quick thinker/typer. I don't do a whole lot of planning except before November; during October, I did a lot of mini drafts and other short stories to sort of get my ideas in place.
Now, I just start typing and hope for the best. Don't get me wrong, the whole story's a mess and I KNOW I'm going back and rewriting several chapters if not all of them completely, but having it in a real, tangible form is probably the best feeling ever.

    I love writing!

I started a novel a couple of years ago, and it's still sat somewhere and hasn't been touched in a long time. I guess I just stopped but I do intend to go back to it... Someday

I love the initiative of this month and it is great for getting people to put pen to paper! I would love to browse through anything that you guys are writing :D

XDD I love writing. I've been doing it probably since I learned how to write. Learning to read was literally the only thing I looked forward to when I was a little girl going to school- I used to carry books around with pictures and pretend to read them because I just wanted to so bad. The other kids would laugh because when we had our reading lessons and they were getting bored I would be like "SHHHHHHH SHUT UP THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT SHUT UP".

I've had several novels over the years that just never panned out. They never got finished. I'm really, really hoping this one will be different, especially because I did actually hit the 50,000 word mark! I'm thinking of actually splitting it into several books, because the beginning just wound up being so long it actually could be split up.
