I am considering starting a third channel and would like to get some feedback on the idea.

First some background. I have 2 channels, Sir Jaxxy Gaming (partnered with MGN) and The Sir Jaxxy & ShyBlue Show (partnered with another network). The reason I started Sir Jaxxy Gaming was because at the time Freedom was announced (not launched) I was locked into a contract with my main channel and didn't think I would be able to get out of it by the time Freedom launched. The channel also seemed to have a split demographic so with the help and advice of George and Marcus Eikenberry ( Markee Dragon) I started Sir Jaxxy Gaming. The Sir Jaxxy & ShyBlue Show is focused on multiplayer/co-op gameplay with my wife ShyBlue and occasionally our kids and subscribers. It is strictly MMO and co-op RPG (ie. Divinity: Original Sin) based. Sir Jaxxy Gaming on the other hand is unfocused other than it is single player based.

I had to take over a year away from uploading due to health issues. Since deciding to reboot the channels a couple months ago I've been doing allot of research on how to grow a new/small channel. I'm coming to the conclusion that one of the main reasons Sir Jaxxy Gaming is not growing is do to lack of focus. The main reason being inconsistent uploading. I have polled my viewers as well as gone through my analytics. All the videos that I have done since the reboot have been a show I call 3LO. This is a first impressions show, where I do 30-60 minutes of blind gameplay. It is loosely based off of TotalBiscuit's WTF show. It covers a combination of new releases as well as older titles in all genres. I have also done let's plays/playthrough series on the channel as well. Based on a handful of respondents to a couple of polls I've done it seems the viewers want the 3LO format over the playthrough series. My dilemma is my analytics tend to show the playthroughs get more views. I would also really prefer to do both.

What I am thinking of doing is to start a third channel. Sir Jaxxy Gaming would continue on as it is with 2 or more weekly uploads of the 3LO show. It would focus more on newer releases (mostly indies) when I can get review codes and older titles that I find to be a great game at a bargain price when I don't have access to any new titles. The new channel would be 100% single player (mostly RPG) playthroughs of both new and old titles. RPGs are my true gaming passion and why I started doing YouTube to begin with.

Sorry this post got so long. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this. I know don't think I would be dividing my audience doing the 3 channels as each would have a very specific target audience. Let me know if you think otherwise. Would love to hear from you if you agree as well.

Hmm i always find it best to do everything gaming related on one channel as this brings variety and you target mutipile audience.

By seperating you content across your channels you can focus more on a particular part but your audience would also come from only that part wich makes this quite the tough decision...

If the topics going to be totally different like gaming, beauty and vlogs then go for it but only if you can manage it. But for smaller channels it's best just to have them in different playlists and series.

You can always make a upload schedule which keeps your uploading consistent or another way is to record lots of video at the same time and set up scheduled uploads so YouTube can upload the videos consistently!

I like the idea of split channels, then again not so much only because it seems, like it would be hectic and some games fall rather close together so if certain people in ur audience feels it belongs somewhere else there will a disconnect .... However if you advertise all the channels I dont see why it would not work out in the long run... I hope, the health issues r taken care of and ur doing better btw - take care of urself!
