I would love to hear how you plan out your gaming schedule for your channel. Do you just pick what to record at random, by your interest, by previously popular titles on your channel, by popular titles on other channels?

I ask because I'm at a loss as to what to start my next let's play on. I currently have 433 games in this Steam library with another 57 in my inventory. I then have another 305 games in this Steam library. There is then about another 60 titles between my wife's and kid's Steam accounts I can record via family share. I then have another 70-80 titles on GOG. and 30-40 between Origin and UPlay. So all in all I have well over 1,000 games to chose from. This is just leaving me overwhelmed.

As a result I'm just not starting a full LP. Instead I am just doing one time First Impression videos on titles that I get review copies of and am constantly moving on to the next game. In the future I plan to use 3LO (my first impressions series) to chose my let's plays from. Picking from the most popular 3LO episodes. For now, however, my channel just does not get enough traffic for that to work.

I think that a youtuber should just follow whatever he wants to play ;)
I do this myself and i really like making videos like that because i feel like there is no point in making a video on a game you dont actually wanna play... because its probably gonna bring down the quality of the video a bit.

I agree with this up to a point. Ultimately, I suppose, it comes down to why you are making videos and doing YouTube. So for me, I want to grow this into full time work. So, though, I would never put out a video of a game I hated playing (unless as a comedy feature or satire) I do still need to be aware of what my viewers want and give more to them then just play my favorite game at the moment.

I go with the game that I feel most comfortable with. If I'm feeling like playing CSGO, I'll play the heck out of it! I feel that if I feel super compelled to play any game, it will make the recording go much smoother.

As for my Gaming schedule i mostly play whatever i feel like playing at that moment.
I am someone who isn't able to play just one game as my interest goes pretty wide in this section.
For youtube on the other hand i set 3 video's a week online and try to keep it at 3 video's of a certain game and the rest of the video's i make i set on private as back-up for later use :)

I upload three times a week, two times I upload videos of my two favorite games and the third time I upload a video of something that I like at the moment.

    Hey Sir Jaxxy,
Personally I only do YouTube for World of Warcraft right now, but what I like to do is write down some video ideas and then try and create videos based on that. I like to have an idea of what i'm doing next so I can start recording, it also helps where possible for me to make my thumbnail and title up first! First impressions count and all that! :D

    Goodluck :)

For me it's a lot easier then before. I'm still in high school and not currently employed so I have a lot more free time then before. For someone who has a job I'd recommend only working on videos on a spare or free day to avoid fatigue.
