Using a Face Camera in YouTube video's a good idea?

    Just wondering what people thoughts are on it. I've noticed a fair few Youtubers use face cam in their videos and wondering does that help with trying to grow your channel at all? (putting a name to a face)

    Something I've pondered with but right now I'd have to invest in a good camera.

    It really depends on what type of content you make, I don't use facecam cause it doesn't fit with the videos I make. You've recently made KSP and Portal Knights videos which I don't know if facecam would fit with that, but I'm no saying never do it because it can help make a connection to your audience. But at the end of the day it's up to you, do whatever you want to it's your channel :p hope this helps a little :)

    In some cases i think it gives your audience a face with the voice and see what the reaction is along with the personality.

    If it helps is something you have to find out. It gives your viewers the option to get more personal with you.

    Certain games is where a facecam would make sense, then again most channels use facecam on videos that doesnt make sense - and they don't show any emotion or reaction.. so their face is just like "-_-" the whole time, if so just don't show it then.

    It definitely depends. Some youtubers enjoy using facecam, some don't; take Cryaotic and RPGMinx. Very popular youtubers, don't use facecam. I personally use facecam, but I'm avery animated person and I move around a lot and wave my arms, so facecam is useful for being crazy and entertaining haha. It's also perfect for horror games,but say you're playing something like... Idk, a strategy game. No one's going to thank you for covering up part of your map with your face, especially if you're concentrating really hard for the whole video and not really moving. I mean, I do that anyway, but it's because my viewers have gotten so used to seeing my face that it's sort of a bad idea for me to change things up.

    Ultimately, it's up to you. Inevitably, you'll get people who are going to be cruel for the sake of being cruel. When I first used facecam, I'd get people saying "Wow she's really ugly why does she use facecam?" I use it all the time now- there are very few videos I won't use facecam on, if any. Either they got used to it, or the people who didn't like it went away XDDD
