Feb. 1st - EXP, Levels, & Shop!

Hi gamers,

In an effort to better the experience and provide more value within this community, we're implementing a new system that will not only reward you, but help you grow in the process!

Today we introduce...


How to gain experience points:

• Each time you post in the MGN forums, you gain +1 experience points.
  
• When you create a thread that provides a good amount of value to users (in the forms or 'likes' or responses), a staff member may credit you +5 experience points.
• When you are leaving comments on MGN videos (http://www.youtube.com/MGN) that are useful, informative, helpful, insightful, and/or contributes to the growth of the MGN community, you may be credited +5 experience points.

Changes to how forum posts work:

• We have limited the amount of posts users can make to ten per day.
  • This is to prevent users from posting low-quality messages to rack up experience.
  • This also creates the incentive to spend more time creating value in posts (bonus points, anyone?).

How the shop works:

• Spend your gained experience points in our shop for rewards:
  • Be featured in our "channel review" show on MGN!
  • Be featured in our "video spotlight" show on MGN!
  • Gain access to the exclusive "VIP" areas on the MGN forums and always be in-touch with staff and other VIP members!
  • Increase your MGN partnership's revenue share by +5%!
  • Get first access to any upcoming sponsorships for MGN partners!
  • Grab some game keys for Steam, UPlay, Origin, or any other featured MGN games!

Level up with your experience points!

• As you gain experience, you level up as a member here at MGN.
• When you hit milestone levels (10, 20, 30,...), you get access to more features on the forums.
• Levels are displayed beneath users' names on the forums.

What do you guys think of this new system? Are there any more rewards you'd like to see in the shop? We'll be taking down feedback for the next day or two before the shop goes live.

Sounds pretty damn cool
edit: I have some suggestions for the shop:

• Different themes for the forums
• Unlock more posts per day
• Get your channel featured in the MGN channel sidebar featured channels thing for a time
• Get your stream/channel featured on the forums in a special area/post or something for a time. Maybe more exp would get more time?
• I also think we should have a role-play section of the forums for those that are into that.
• I think we should also get exp from badges and add more of them, for example - 1yr on forums, 24hrs online etc etc.

I'll update this list as I think of more things

The leveling system sounds great. It will incentivize good communication and interaction within the network. Also limiting the posts to ten per day is a great idea and in the future will help with controlling spamming.

So I was commenting today on welcome boards and I thought the limit was only for posting new topics. Is there any way we can up the limit for replies to posts from ten?

Hey, I really enjoy those changes, hope to make the community more dynamic... the problem is that I don't see any reference or link to the shop, is that limited only to partners?.
