So I've always had a bit of a problem with the fans on my computer getting into my recording, It's a problem when I stream, since it's in the background when I talk, but it's really bad when I record. Audacity has a Noise Reduction tool that I use for my recordings, but it leaves some distortion. Does anyone have any advice for that? Would acoustic panels help, even though the computer's in the same room?

I'm currently using Audacity to remove background noise, but I'm getting some left over distortion. Does Audition work better for that?

well try a pop filter with your mic or if you don't have a pop filter use a sock and i am pretty sure this will help
